In 50 years, will you be able to reminisce? Scanning services

Will your children know what a printed photograph is? Will your grandchildren know if they’ve inherited your good looks? Will you be able to show them your childhood home? The answer to these questions is largely dependent on how you store and archive printed and digital images today. After all, we’re not simply talking about pictures and home movies. We’re talking about your childhood, your wedding day, your entire family history … your life.

What is archiving?

Archiving is the process of preserving, organizing and protecting something precious. In our case, it applies to printed photos, video moments and home movies. In other words – your precious family legacy. We begin with scanning services.

What’s your photo management strategy?

Make a plan for your story. How do you plan to preserve all the meaningful events in your life? If you don’t have one, don’t worry. We provide tools, training and assistance so you can tell your story for generations to come. We’ll pair your lifestyle needs with the right photo management solutions, making it easy to keep up with your collection as it grows. Archiving is an important but never-ending process, and it’s just as important to preserve the past as it is the present.

Five awesome reasons to archive:

  1. No family battles. Once your memorabilia is digitized, each and every family member can have their very own digital copy of the files. This is especially helpful in the case of a divorce or death in the family. If you prefer to have a printed copy, we can do that as well.
  2. No more clutter. Storing a DVD or digital version of your memories takes far less space in your home.
  3. Pass it on. Many people choose to order multiple copies of their digitized images for each of their children, grandchildren or siblings.
  4. Peace of mind. Aging photo albums, boxes of prints and home movies are at risk for deterioration, misplacement and destruction in their current state. Archiving is also insurance for loss due to water damage, fire and other environmental hazards.
  5. Convenience. Avoid digging through closets and flipping through albums looking for a single photo. Archived images are easily searchable.

We keep your treasures safe and local.

We never recommend shipping away family archives, treasured photos and irreplaceable home video movies. It’s too risky. ASAP Photo & Video has been professionally preserving memories for over 30 years.

How it works:

  • Drop off your printed memorabilia to be scanned and digitized at our store.
  • A few days later – return to pick up your digital storage device (DVD, USB drive, external drive, etc.), which will contain each scanned/digitized image as a .jpg file.
  • Prints are scanned at the original size of the print with resolution of 300dpi.
  • Front and back scanning is available.
  • Your memorabilia is cared for by our trained archiving experts, who will treat your materials with the utmost care.
  • Your items never leave our property or get shipped away.
  • All original items are returned to you after the process is complete.
